VESYL allows you to automatically flag orders with unverified or potentially incorrect addresses so that they can be reviewed and corrected before shipping. This helps reduce shipping errors, failed deliveries, and costly label refunds.
Step 1: Create an Automation Rule
- Go to the Automations tab in your VESYL dashboard.
- Click Create New Automation.
- Set the “If” Conditions as follows:
- Verified Destination Address = False
- Is Domestic = True
These conditions ensure that only domestic orders with unverified addresses are flagged.
Step 2: Define the Automation Action
- Under “Do This” Actions, select:
- Set Status to “Unverified Address”
This automatically moves flagged orders into the Unverified Address status for review.
Step 3: Correcting Unverified Orders
- Navigate to the Orders Page.
- Filter by Status = Unverified Address.
- Review and correct the address details.
- Once corrected, the order will automatically move into Ready to Ship status.
Tip: You can also combine this with VESYL’s Address Verification feature to suggest corrections automatically.
Step 4: Automation Order Matters
- Run this automation before any shipping service automation or residential flag automation.
- This ensures orders are properly verified before carrier rules, rate selection, or shipping labels are applied.
Best Practices
- Regularly monitor the Unverified Address queue to avoid shipping delays.
- Use Automation Rules in combination with Rate Shopping to prevent unnecessary label purchases for incorrect addresses.
- Set up alerts or notifications for orders flagged as unverified so your team can act quickly.
- Consider international addresses separately, as this automation is designed for domestic orders.
By properly setting the Unverified Address status, VESYL helps reduce failed deliveries, customer dissatisfaction, and wasted shipping costs.
