Sometimes you may need to rerun automations across all your orders—for example, if you’ve made updates to your rules, added a new automation, or discovered an earlier setup error. VESYL makes this simple with the Run Automations option.
When to Rerun Automations
You may want to rerun automations in situations such as:
- Updated Rules – You changed how orders are assigned to services, statuses, or tags.
- New Automation Added – You created a new rule (e.g., residential flag, rate shop, or order status update) that should apply to existing orders.
- Error Correction – A previous automation misapplied a rule and you need to reprocess orders.
- Bulk Updates – You want to apply rules consistently across all open orders without editing them one by one.
How to Rerun Automations for All Orders
- Navigate to the Automations Page in your VESYL dashboard.
- In the top-right corner, click the Run Automations button.
- All orders will be reprocessed against your current automation rules in the order they are listed (top to bottom).
- Once complete, your orders will reflect any new statuses, service mappings, or flags.
Important: Make sure your automations are ordered correctly before rerunning. Automations run sequentially, and the order can impact results.
Best Practices
- Test on Individual Orders First – If you’ve just created a new rule, consider testing it on one or two orders using the Run Automations button on the Orders page before rerunning all.
- Check Order Priorities – Ensure higher-priority automations are at the top of the list so they apply first.
- Pause Irrelevant Rules – Temporarily pause rules you don’t want to affect orders before rerunning.
- Review Results – After rerunning, filter your orders by updated statuses or shipping services to confirm the rules applied correctly.
