How to Update an Order’s Weight When Product Details Change

When a product’s weight changes—due to updated packaging, dimensional changes, or other reasons—you need accurate recalculations to ensure correct shipping rates and avoid potential shipping errors or surcharges.

Steps to Recalculate Order Weight

  1. Navigate to the Orders Page
    • From your dashboard or main navigation, go to Orders and locate the specific order you need to edit.

  2. Enter Edit Mode for the Order
    • Click Edit for the relevant order to access all editable fields.

  3. Use the Calculator Tool to Update Weight
    • Scroll down to the Weight field.
    • Click the Calculator icon/button beside the weight input—this action recalculates and updates the total order weight automatically.

What this impacts (at a glance)

Shipping rates & service options depend on accurate weight. Missing/incorrect weight can block rate calculation and keep an order from moving out of “Open” status.

Quick tip

Packaging weight: If you include box weight in totals, update it separately (Boxes → Edit → Box Weight) so recalculated totals remain accurate.
